Constance V. (O'Rea) Dinwiddie 81 of Indianapolis , Indiana , beloved Wife and Mother, died at the home of her son in Clinton, LA. on March 29, 2012. She was surrounded by her family.
Constance was born July 21, 1930 in Paris, Tennessee to Edward and Flora O'Rea. She grew up in Paris where she graduated from Central High School, where she was on the state debate team and won a state championship in Basketball. She continued her education at lane College in Jackson Tennessee, where she met her husband Basil Dinwiddie.
Constance was employed as a Senior Accounting Clerk for the united States Army Finance and Accounting Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison. She retired from this position after over thirty years of service.
Constance was a long standing faithful member of the University United Methodist Church. She faithfully served in the United Methodist Women's organization in various charitable programs and also in a number of senior activities at the church. Constance and her late husband had a host of friends that gathered monthly in a supper club.
She is survived by her sons; Alan, James (Bernita), Keith (Tyeshia), Kenneth (Suzetta) and step daughter Hilda Mae Gadis (Mack).
Constance was the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Constance was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Basil; and her brother Joel and Edward O'Rea.
