Connie Raub

March 16, 1922 — August 31, 2013

Connie Valeria Raub 91, passed away on August 31,2013 to be present with the Lord and free from her pain and suffering caused by cancer. She was the youngest of nine children born to Tobias and Margaret Coy on March 16, 1922 in Ervin Township, Howard County, IN. She was preceeded in death by her son, Rory Raub and her husband of almost 60 years, Richard Raub. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Ervin Township High School. She went on to work for the war effort at Haynes Stellite making wax patterns for castings for turbo charger parts used on B-17 aircraft engines. After her marriage to Richard Raub, she resided in Indianapolis. She was a member of Broad Ripple United Methodist Church and worked for 23 years in the gift wrap dept. of Block's and Lazarus Dept. Stores. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing, arts & crafts and antique collecting for which she won several ribbons at the State Fair. She also enjoyed day outings, family and "just doing nothing". She is survived by her son, Robin (Carol) Raub, daughter, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Burgardt, grandson, Ryan Brown, step-grandson Tyler (Claire) Burgardt and great step-grandson, Archer Burgardt. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday September 6, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple, with calling from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Richard's Episcopal School, 33 E. 33rd St. Indianapolis, IN 46205.
