It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Colleen Isabel Watson on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
She passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 97, surrounded by her children. Colleen was born in Detroit, Michigan, on February 3, 1928 as the only child to her parents, Isabel German-Simpson and Wallace Simpson. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1946 and married Robert W. Watson, a navy veteran of WWII, on August 6, 1948.
She was a devoted wife, celebrating 50 years of marriage in August 1998. She was a loving mother to Cindy, Susan and Rob and a cherished grandmother to 5 grandsons, Nick, Austin, Kyle, Cody and Connor. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength and warmth.
Colleen loved life and was known for her love of animals, evidenced by her many cats. She was known for her enduring spirit and infectious humor and approached life with grace inspiring all who knew her with her resilience and love. Her kind heart, generosity, love of life, and beautiful smile will be sorely missed.
Colleen was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Watson, Oct 1961, her husband, Robert Watson, Sept 1998, and her parents Isabel and Wallace Simpson.

Burial services will be private for the immediate family.
Though she may be gone, a mother’s love remains, a beacon of hope and light in our lives,
Isaiah 40:31: “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles: they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
