Colleen Moore Murphy

Colleen Moore Murphy, 75 of Cicero, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022.  Colleen was born December 16, 1946 in Urbana, IL to the late J.G. “Jerry” and Ettamae Mitchell Cash.  After attending schools in Urbana, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to attend Memphis State University (now, University of Memphis).  She graduated in 1971 with a BBA degree in Business Administration.

She married Wallace Moore in 1970; they had two children.  In 1985 she married Dr. Walter Murphy and went to work in his family practice as office manager.  After his death in 1988, Colleen started her own company, Medical Insurance Claims, Inc., helping seniors with insurance claims.

Colleen is survived by her children, Wallace “Trey” Moore and Anje Roberson; granddaughters, Isabella Elizabeth Roberson and Carolyn Michelle Roberson; sister, Barbara (husband, George) Frock; brother, Fred (wife, Berniece) Cash; nephews, Gary and Brian Frock.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Tuesday, April 5 at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park.  Colleen will be entombed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
