Colette G. Dellavalle

The matriarch of our family Colette G. DellaValle, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away February 17^th, 2022. She was born August 1^st, 1928, in Paris, France, to Edouard Jules Dumas and Jeanne Eugenie Valentine (Schuler) Dumas.

Colette grew up in Paris and studied in France as well as England.

As a young woman, Colette met the love of her life, Genesis DellaValle. They were married and shared 55 wonderful years together. Genesis passed away in 2010.

After raising her young children, she worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison Exchange (PX) for many years. She then continued working at Cracker Barrel until she retired.

Colette was a vibrant, loving woman. A worldly lady, she loved to travel. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her home. Colette was an excellent cook and took great pride in hosting family events and holidays. Colette always had a soft spot for animals and could beat anyone at a game of Scrabble. Colette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother “Mina”, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Anna DellaValle ,Guy DellaValle, Gene (Martha) DellaValle, and Corinne DellaValle-Jones; grandchildren Guillaume, Christopher, Courtneay, Chelbee, and Chastina; great-grandchildren Chandler and Chloe.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Genesis, and several siblings.
