Our beloved 96 year old Dad, Papa, friend, and hero went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2021.
He was the proudest of Americans, having served in the US Army and the Far Eastern Air Force as a Military Police officer during WWII.
Clyde was born in Harrodsburg, KY, which is also where he met his wife. After returning from the war, he saw Catherine working behind the counter in a drug store and told his friend that was the girl he was going to marry. He did just that and he adored her from that point forward.
Clyde worked as a painting contractor until his retirement and was still working on home projects until a couple weeks before his journey to heaven.
He is now once again with the love of his life, Catherine, his parents, and nine siblings and many dear friends who preceded him in death. Clyde is survived by three children, Janice, Dan (Lisa,) and Paul (Darla) Terhune. He loved spending time with his grandchildren: Michelle Rinzel, Heather Harpold, Tyler Terhune, Jacob Sparks, Kristen Hallenbeck and Andrew Terhune and great-grandchildren: Alex and Emma Harden, Halle and Rowan Harpold, Evan and Ezra Sparks, Mason and Jackson Hallenbeck and Ezra Willis.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm Monday, July 12 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
To know Clyde is to love him. His love for the Lord, sense of humor, steadfast love for and acceptance of everyone is an inspiration to us all. We grieve for ourselves but rejoice in knowing he is in his Eternal Home. What a life well-lived. As he would say, “God bless us all and God bless God.”
