Clovie J. Rains

Clovie J. Rains, age 88, of Avon, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022. Clovie was born in Ritner, Kentucky on December 10, 1933, one of two baby girls who joined their parents John Osburn Jones and Mattie Roberts Jones on this day.

Clovie worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis, IN prior to her marriage to Elmer M. Rains, at which time she then became a professional homemaker who never quite retired from this role. Clovie took delight in baking cherry pies, gardening, bowling, and making quilts for her loved ones.

Clovie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer M. Rains, brothers Boyce and Floyd Jones, and twin sister, Clara Jacobs. Clovie is survived by two daughters, Misha Bennett (Rick Waddington) of Crawfordsville, IN and Tonya Mullen (Tim) of Avon, IN. Also surviving are three grandsons, Adam Bennett (Laura), Justin Mullen, Ryan Bennett, two great grandchildren, Hadley, and Gavin Bennett. Other survivors include sisters, Joyce McCutcheon, Ruth Nance, many nieces and two nephews.
