Clinton A. Nelson

Clinton “Clint” A. Nelson, 93, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on March 20, 2026. He was born on February 10, 1933, in Stillwater, Minnesota, to parents, Arthur Osmond Nelson and Marjorie Maria (Wilhelm) Nelson. Clint married Virginia (Joyce) Nelson on March 1, 1958, enjoying a beautiful 67 years together.

Clint was a man whose passions, talents, and love for his family shaped a life full of joy and unforgettable memories. An avid golfer, he not only loved the game but excelled at it, winning multiple tournaments over the years. He enjoyed playing tennis, watching just about any sport, and cheering faithfully for his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Clint also had a well-known sweet tooth, especially for Rocky Road and Butter Pecan ice cream. Above all, family was the center of his world. Every few years he planned extravagant vacations that became treasured traditions; adventures to Disney World, serene getaways to Cape Hatteras, and most cherished of all, time spent at their mountain home in Asheville. There, the family found their greatest peace together on the porch, sharing coffee in the quiet mornings and wine under the soft glow of the evening. Clint’s legacy lives in the laughter, warmth, and countless moments he created with the people he loved most.

Clint grew up on his family’s dairy farm, where as a child he contributed by fishing to help provide food while others worked in the fields and tended to livestock. He began his education in a one-room schoolhouse where he was the only student in his class before attending Stillwater High School. After graduation, he spent a year working on the family farm before enrolling at Hamline University.

He earned a degree in Biology and soon after enlisted in the Navy with his best friend through the Buddy Program, attending Navy Officer Candidate School. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, he met Virginia, and after a whirlwind romance, they married and moved to Guam. After completing his active duty, Clint joined the Naval Reserves, ultimately achieving the rank of Commander, USNR.

Alongside his military service, Clint built a distinguished career in the insurance industry, eventually becoming an Executive Vice President of two medical insurance companies. His work took him across five states before he retired and settled in Noblesville, Indiana.

Clint is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Nelson; his children, Sandra Weinstein, Ken Nelson, and Traci (Randy) Albertson; and his grandchildren, Adam (Siris) Weinstein, Sophie Weinstein, Jake Nelson, Olivia Nelson, and Morgan Albertson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Katherine Nelson White and Genevieve Elizabeth Ness; and his brother, Robert Osmond Nelson.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Wheeler Mission, or Paralyzed Veterans of America. 

Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Carmel, IN from 1pm to 3pm followed by a service.
