Clifford Charles Lewis, affectionately known as Cliff, passed away on August 3, 2026, at Indiana Masonic Home Compass Park, with his loving wife by his side. Born on October 5, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia, Cliff’s journey through life was marked by a spirit of generosity, camaraderie, and unwavering devotion to his family, friends, and community.

Cliff was the beloved husband of Linda Kay Lewis, with whom he shared a lifetime of adventure, love, and partnership. He is also survived by his sons, Brian (Amanda) Lewis and Mark Lewis—whose lives he shaped with wisdom, warmth, and example—and his cherished granddaughter, Eleanor Lewis, who brought him immense pride and joy, especially at their first meeting, a memory Cliff cherished dearly.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harold C. Lewis and Marjorie E. Lewis, whose guidance and love helped form the strong character for which Cliff was known.

A graduate of Southport High School, Cliff went on to pursue higher education at Ball State University. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies Education and later a Master's Degree in Public Administration, combining a keen intellect with a passion for service. During his university days, he was an active member of the Delta Chi fraternity, forging lifelong friendships and connections.

Cliff dedicated many years to a distinguished career as an insurance adjuster. His commitment to fairness and his approachability made him a trusted colleague to many. Though he briefly served in the Army Reserves, his passion lied with his tireless work in support of Masonic organizations that truly spoke to the heart of Cliff's character.

A committed Mason, Cliff served as Past Master of Calvin W. Prather Masonic Lodge #717 in 1985 and acted as lodge secretary for many years, guiding the organization with diligence and care. His affiliation extended to the Prather York Rite and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, exemplifying Masonic values in every endeavor. As a proud member of the Murat Shrine, Cliff held numerous leadership roles, including past president of the Chanters and the Past Masters club. He was the longtime editor of the Murat magazine and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, class of 2000.

With his beloved wife Linda, Cliff enjoyed many years running the Murat Oasis band nights, creating cherished memories for countless friends and attendees. His life was filled with significant moments—being the first to run the dishwasher at Prospect Lodge in 1959, sharing the proud occasion of attending both his sons' Past Master’s degrees, and the joy he felt in every family gathering.

Cliff was truly fun-loving—he delighted in golf, fishing, and reveling in the energy of nightlife. Singing and doing karaoke were among his greatest joys; his extroverted nature and love for music made every gathering brighter. Cliff found fulfillment in connecting with others, making friends everywhere he went and always lifting spirits with his infectious enthusiasm and kindness.

All who knew Cliff will remember his generous heart, his ready smile, and the way he could strike up a conversation with anyone. The legacy he leaves behind is one of fellowship, service, and love—a life lived to the fullest, surrounded by those he cared for most.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cliff’s remarkable life at Flanner Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Visitation will be held on August 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a Masonic Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service at 1:15 p.m.
