Clifford Vinsant Butcher, 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on June 4, 2026. He was born on November 24, 1944, to the late Ewing and Bertha “Dee Dee” Breeden.
Clifford lived a life rooted in faith, love of family, and devotion to the country. A Christian and proud patriot, he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and carried that same spirit of service throughout his life. He retired from NuTec Roofing and was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
He enjoyed fishing, spending time with those he loved, feeding the birds and squirrels, and helping others in quiet and meaningful ways. His legacy is one of faith, service, generosity, and love.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Ewing and Bertha “Dee Dee” Breeden, and his brothers, Jessie Butcher and Boyd Butcher.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Clifford Butcher II (Kathy), Dr. Sarah Ward (Eric), and Patricia Whitehair (Robin); grandchildren, Clifford Butcher III (Rebekah), Julie Butcher, Eleanor VanHoy, and step-grandson Blake; great-grandchildren, Lita Butcher and Clifford Butcher IV; and brothers, Jay Butcher, Hubert Butcher, and Joseph Butcher.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held in Clifford's honor 11-1pm Saturday June 13, 2026 with a funeral service to follow at 1pm, all to take place at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East Funeral Center. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Anderson Cemetery ,6501 E 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219 with a graveside service.
