Clayton H (Clayt} Wahl resided

in Indianapolis Indiana and died peacefully on May 14, 2016 at the age of 98.

Clayt is survived by hischildren, Robert A. Wahl (Melinda), Carolyn A. Janson (Eugene) and James C.Wahl (Diane). He also is survived by 9grandchildren – Robert Scott Wahl (Carolyn), Brian Wahl (Melanie), Bradley Wahl(Kate), Mark Janson (Robin), Anne Davis (Jeff), John Janson (Lucy), Tammy Sanders, David Wahl (Kelly), Jason Wahl (Yolany), and 27 great grandchildren. He isalso survived by his sister, Arlene (Wahl) Hoffman of Saginaw Michigan and numerousnieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by wife, Arlene(Roedel) Wahl, daughter, Carol Pauline Wahl and his parents.

Clayt was born in Saginaw,Michigan to Arthur and Lena Wahl. Hegraduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. He marriedArlene Roedel in 1938 and enjoyed over 64 years of marriage until her passingin 2002. . He began working for Standard Oil Company in Saginaw and retired in1977 from Amoco (BP) in Indianapolis. Clayt served in the U. S Army duringWorld War II and was honorably discharged. He and Arlene were members of Our RedeemerLutheran Church in Indianapolis where both served the church in variouscapacities over the years. He was an accomplishedwood worker, a self-taught electronic technician, and a skilleddo-it-yourselfer and handyman who could fix and save any and everything. He passed many of these skills on to hischildren and other members of his family who follow in his footsteps.

A funeral is scheduled for Thursday,May 19 at 11:00 AM at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 KesslerBlvd West Dr. Indianapolis, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Clayton’slife. Calling will be on Wednesday, May 18, from 6 to 8 PM, and 1 hour prior toservice. In lieu of flowers, please senddonations to the Redeemer Hospitality Mission, c/o Our Redeemer LutheranChurch, 3421 North Park Avenue, Indianapolis 46205. Entombment will be in Washington Park NorthCemetery.
