Claude L. Wert

80, Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Claude was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 25, 1935 to the late, Marvin and Charlotte M. (Orff) Wert. He worked for nearly 30 years as a truck driver for Farber Bros. Distributing Company and retired in 1995 from Golden Streams. He was a Teamsters member; member of the National Campers and Hikers Association; Capital City Campers; and greatly enjoyed his time playing Santa Claus for various groups including the campgrounds, daycares, firehouses and beyond. Claude enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most importantly spending time with his family.

Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Faye (Abbott) Wert; parents, Marvin and Charlotte; siblings, Kenneth Wert, Sandy Wert, Beverly Hughes, Priscilla Poynter and Dennis Wert.

Claude will be lovingly missed by his children: Kimberly F. Manning (Mark), Kent Wert (Tina), and Keith Wert; grandchildren: Jesse, Jacob, Katie, Noah and Luke; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Calling will be held from 11am until 1pm on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, where his funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
