Clara Louise Taylor, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born on November 13, 1928 in Indianapolis to Clide C. and Clara Beatrice (Stinson) Welch. Clara worked in Customer Service for the Lafayette Square Sears store for 35 years. She was a 15 year member of Bethesda Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible. Clara also enjoyed collecting bells, playing cards, bingo and yatzee and was proud to be a self-taught pianist. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Danny) Leach, Michael (Vickie) Taylor, Deborah McVay, Kenneth (Tina) Taylor; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara is also survived by her sister, Martha Staub, brother, Junior Welch. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Omer Earl Taylor; daughter, Rebecca Taylor; granddaughter, Leanna Benson; great-granddaughter, Marissa Dubak and son-in-law, John McVay. Clara was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark Welch; sisters, Alma Jones and Betty Dennis. Visitation for Mrs. Taylor will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 4 until 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway. Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11am, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Spine Institute of Indianapolis.
