Christopher T. Hibshman
42, Carmel, passed away November 28, 2012. He was born November 30, 1969, in Allentown, PA, the son of Doug and Doris (Fry) Hibshman. He married Sandy (Briner) Hibshman on May 13, 2001, in New Albany.
Chris served six years in the United States Navy on a nuclear submarine the SS San Francisco. While on watch he discovered a serious condition that threatened the sub and its crew of 120 seamen. He received recognition for his prompt action. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. He was an engineer with Eli Lilly for the past 11 years.
He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed fishing and sports. He was also active with his son's Cub Scout Pack and his children's other activities.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Hibshman, Noblesville; father, Doug Hibshman (Beverly), NC; wife, Sandy Hibshman, Carmel; children, Carter, Sam, and Grace; brother, Benjamin Hibshman, Chesterton; niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Evan; maternal grandparents, Harry and Jackie Fry, Noblesville; and mother-in-law, Sandy (Brandon) Lasley, Indianapolis. Also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Vincent Foundation.
