Christine Lynn Watkins

Christine Lynn Watkins, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

She was born on August 10, 1952 in Indianapolis to the late Bill K. and Mary Lou (Edwards) Parsley. Christine was a 1970 graduate of Arlington High School and provided home daycare services for many years. She and her mother enjoyed breeding and raising Himalayan and Persian cats.

Christine married Gary D. Watkins on March 3, 1979. She was an advocate for adoption and she and her husband opened their home to their beloved children, Cory (Ashley Bundy) Watkins, Tracy (Cosmo Buchanan) Watkins, Shaun Watkins, Alaina Watkins and Cheyanne Watkins. Christine is also survived by her cousins, Jim (Susan) Parsley, Linda (Jim) Pixley, Barb Kennedy and Carol Thews; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Joe) Bryant and Susie (Jeff) Russell. Christine loved to spend time with her family, playing games and camping in the 35 foot motor home. She was a kind, caring and compassionate woman who will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Mrs. Watkins will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday morning at 10am at Nativity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the charity of the donor’s choice.
