Chloe "Ellen" McIntire

C. Ellen (Coleman) McIntire, 100, Indianapolis, passed away on January 3, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1923, in Pittsboro, Indiana, the daughter of William M. and Alta (Sallee) Coleman. In 1941, she graduated from Pittsboro High School. On January 12, 1943, she married Roy H. McIntire of Lebanon, Indiana. They celebrated their 66^th wedding anniversary on January 12, 2009. Mr. McIntire’s death followed on March 29, 2009.

Mrs. McIntire was a very active homemaker. She especially loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was also an active member of Buck Creek Christian Church in Indianapolis, where she sang in the choir for many years. Her other memberships included Brookside Chapter no.481, Order of the Eastern Star (50 – year member), later of Oakland Chapter No. 159, and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 2197, both in Indianapolis.

Mrs. McIntire is survived by her son, Dennis K. McIntire. Other survivors include several nephews and nieces. Three sisters, Ethel Coleman, Edith J. Randall, and Betty L. Duggar preceded her in death.

Arrangement are being handled by Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, January 10, 22024,024 at Hope Christian Church (3525 Senour Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46239). The funeral service will follow immediately thereafter. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
