Chie Woodard

Mrs. Chie Woodard, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was born on September 25, 1928 in Tokyo, Japan to the late Zenzaburo and Kuma (Nagayama) Shimizu. Chie married Robert Hiles in 1951 and traveled to the United States where she met her second husband, Carlos Woodard. Together they have shared 57 years of marriage. Chie was an avid gardener and quilter, and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Carlos; children, Cathy, Charlie, Nora and Rosetta; grandchildren, Vickie, Danny and Erica; great-grandchildren, Bre, Savanna, Bella and Nova; great-great-grandchild, David. Chie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kaziko. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10am at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
