Charlotte J. Short

Charlotte J. Short, 93, of Fishers, Indiana passed away on October 13, 2022. She was born on May 11, 1929, in Jennings County, Indiana, to parents, Herbert C. and Irene M. (Coryell) Joseph.

In August of 1951, Charlotte married the love of her life, Glyndon “Glen” Short. They shared a loving 66 years together until his passing on January 19, 2018.

Charlotte attended St. Vincent’s School of Nursing, graduating in 1951.  For a dedicated 40 years, she worked as a registered nurse and supervisor at Hancock Memorial Hospital. Charlotte and Glen loved to travel all over the world together and were also longtime and faithful members of Emerson Avenue Baptist Church, where she played piano for Sunday School and Bible Study.  Charlotte also enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading and playing euchre.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Randall (Mary) Short, Kevin (Donna) Short, and Leslie (Paul) Spencer; grandchildren, Stephanie Koehler, Jennifer (Kenny) Short, Erin (Lyle) Henning, Kristen (Tyler) Myers, Brian (Stacee) Short, Katherine (Jon) Forsthoff, Joseph Spencer, and Zachary (Diana) Short; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ellie, Hazel, Wyatt, Maggie, Harrison, Emory, and Claire; and sister, Shirley (Leland) James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Irene Joseph; her husband, Glyndon “Glen” Short; son, Stephen J. Short; and siblings, Max Joseph and Royce Joseph.

Charlotte’s visitation will be Saturday, October 22, from 11am-12pm with a funeral service immediately following at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229.
