Charlotte Filka-Colver, age 92, of Carmel, IN, died Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
She was born June 4, 1932, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Theodore and Martha (Graf) Peusch and has been a resident of Carmel since 1977.
Charlotte worked as a secretary for General Motors for 3 years before becoming a homemaker, devoted wife and mother.
She attended the Well Church in Carmel. Charlotte loved Jesus and loved to pray for others. She loved to read and study the Bible and had scriptures posted throughout her home. Charlotte was also involved in women’s Bible studies, prayer ministries, and choir, to name a few.
As an artist, Charlotte won many awards for her paintings and even owned a small business where she sold her artwork.
An avid gardener, Charlotte created colorful flower gardens in every home she lived. Many of her landscapes had bird houses to attract the many birds she loved to watch.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Jon Filka (Jenny); sister, Rita Mayo-Johnson (Carl); and nephews, Marc Mayo (Sharon), Mike Mayo (Debbie), Tony Mayo (Kelly), and Ted Mayo (Angie).
Visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm, Friday, June 28, 2024, at College Park Church (2606 W 96th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268). A Funeral Service will follow at 1pm, June 28, 2024. Burial will take place directly following at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
