Charlesetta Golda-Jean Weaver

Indianapolis, Indiana

Born Charlesetta Golda-Jean Brown, March 19, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Charles Brown & Marguerite Johnson. Charlesetta, known as Golda by her schoolmates and DeeDee by her family, attended Hazel Hart Hendricks Elementary School, IPS #37, and Crispus Attucks High School. DeeDee married James Elmer Weaver on December 29, 1956, and from that union 6 children were born, 4 Sons and 2 Daughters. They remained married until James’ death October 6, 1993. During their union, they resided in Indianapolis, Indiana, Fairfield, CA, Bay Area (Oakland, Union City, & Fremont) in California, and Virginia Beach, Va. In her spare time, DeeDee enjoyed being with her family, bowling, playing cards, dominoes and baking. DeeDee was a sweet and loving woman. Her wisdom and words of encouragement often helped her family and those close to her stay strong. She enjoyed passing down recipes to her family that her mother and aunts had passed down to her.

DeeDee was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  She was known for her unyielding devotion to her family and close friends, and for her innate compassion for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Weaver, oldest daughter Alberta René Weaver, Sister Pauline Johnson, Brothers Joseph Brown,  Lawrence Brown, Marvin Brown, and Charles E. Brown. She is survived by her sons Bryan (Theresa) Weaver, Indianapolis, IN, Mark (Stefania) Weaver, Naples, Italy; Paul (Nakeesha) Weaver, Sugarland, TX; Charles Weaver, Indianapolis, IN and daughter Rhoda (Darrell) Perry, Land O’Lakes, FL.  Sisters Charlene (James) Wallihan and Stella Jefferson, both of Indianapolis, IN; Brother David Brown, Oakland, CAand Sister-in-law Doris Brown, Lancaster, PA; 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and a myriad of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
