Charles Thomas Griffin, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011. He was born on August 27, 1931 in Brazil, IN to Earl and Tressa (Sharp) Griffin. Charles graduated from Van Buren High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from Commercial Lovelace Trucking Co. and was a Past Commander of the VFW Post 1127. Charles was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church, the ROMEO’s club (Retired Old Men Eating Out). He enjoyed racing, camping and boating at Heritage Lake and reading. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna M. (Smith) Griffin; children, Becky (Terry) Watson and Randy Griffin; grandchildren, Jamie and Breanna Watson, Josh, Nikki and Lyndsey Griffin. Charles is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Wells. He was preceded in death by his sister Marguerite Harrison; brothers John, Morris & Earl Griffin; great-granddaughter, Meriah. Visitation for Mr. Griffin will be held at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Speedway on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 4 until 7pm, with the funeral services beginning at 7pm. He will be cremated at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Chapel Rock Christian Church Building Fund.
