Charles T. Heck

Charles T. Heck, 86, Indianapolis, passed away June 11, 2013. He was born February 11, 1927, the son of William and Grace (Selig) Heck. Chuck was a graduate of Manual High School. He served in the US Army under General Patton during WW II, where he helped free displaced refugees. Chuck was a very artistic and creative individual and worked in advertising for many years. He worked for the Star News, was Vice President of Preston's Supermarkets, and served as a financial consultant for Roberts Dairy and American Trans Air. A very spiritual man, Chuck was active in Englewood Christian Church and Post Road Christian Church for many years, where he was an elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He enjoyed golfing and sports. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William Heck, and a sister, Louise Abrams. Chuck deeply loved his family and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katie (Lusk) Heck; his children, Steve Heck (Shirley), Gary Heck, Timothy Heck (Margie), and Kathy Slyder (Tom); 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be on Friday, June 14 at 11 AM at Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Road. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 13 from 4-8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, and on Friday from 10 AM until service time at the church. Interment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Post Road Christian Church, 1112 N. Post Road, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
