Charles Roy Godme

Charles R. Godme, 80, Indianapolis, passed away October 2, 2011. He was born June 10, 1931 in Indpls, to Thelma and Roy Godme. Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years Glodene "Dee" Godme; sons, Doug, Roy and Scott Godme; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Charles was a US Navy Veteran having served from 1951-1953 on the USS Leonard F. Mason destroyer. He graduated from Tech H.S. in 1950. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge – Brookside, Murat Shrine, VFW and the American Legion. Charles retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department after 30 years of devoted service. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:00PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. with calling from 11:00-2:00PM. Burial will be at Acton Cemetery.
