Charles R. Rains

Charles R. Rains 79 of Indianapolis passed away Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012 at his home. He was born June 28, 1932 in Newcomb, Tennessee the son of Walter and Bertha (Hicks) Rains. Charles served honorably in the United States Navy from 1952 until1956 and was a member of American Legion Post 49. He retired after 41 years as a Foreman from Thomas L. Green. Charles was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, bowling in several leagues, watching baseball, Indy car race and all sports. Charles is survived by his grandson T.J. Rains; one brother, Jerry Rains, (wife-Carolyn); one sister, Alma Walker and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Zonda; a son Terry Lee Rains; two brothers, Jack and Don and a brother-in-law, Fayette D. Walker. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan- Floral Park with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.
