Charles "Jerry" Lee Kuhns passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 8th at his home in Carmel. He was 84. Jerry was born in Sioux City, Iowa on Oct. 4th, 1929 to Charles and Sybil Kuhns. He was an only child and spent his days playing baseball with the neighborhood kids and working at his father's grocery store. While attending Central High School he met Caryl Mitchell, and upon graduation, they married, and settled in Sioux City. Jerry joined the Marine Corps and after spending time stationed in Southern California where he was honorably discharged as a Sergent, he and Caryl moved back to Sioux City to start a family. They had two daughters, Victoria (Lesh) and Cynthia (Cave). He graduated from Morningside College and in 1959, after answering an ad in the paper, went to work for the Arthur Fulmer Company in sales. After many successful years, he was promoted to Indianapolis Branch Manager in 1963, and eventually Vice President. A loving grandfather to four, he and Caryl spent their free time watching their grandchildren grow up and enjoying their two Dachsunds. Caryl passed away in 2007, however Jerry remained active and kept himself busy with golf and family. He was an avid golfer and a member of Brookshire Golf Club for many years. He cherished the friendships he made with the regular crew of golfers who met for an early round every morning of the week. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him, and we are all better people for having had him in our lives. He is survived by his two daughters, his four grandchildren, one great-grand daughter, and loving companion Sue. He was preceded in death by his wife Caryl, and his son in law, Dave Lesh..
