Charles E. Hibner

Charles E. Hibner, 94, of Greenfield, passed away November 2nd, 2023. He was born July 31st, 1929, in Indianapolis, to parents Edwin and Henriedda Dorothy (Collins) Hibner.

Charles was a 1947 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School.

He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army from April 18th, 1952, until his honorable discharge April 17th, 1954.

On February 12th, 1950, he married the love of his life Wanda L. (McKee) Hibner. They shared over 70 years together. Wanda passed away December 15th, 2022.

Charles worked for Typo & Weimer Typesetting for many years before retiring.

Charles was a very talented bowler and enjoyed square dancing and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Jim) Bledsoe of Greenfield; grandchild Teri (Daniel) McClintick of Anderson; great-grandchildren Destinee (Jordan) Ripberger, Kolton (Grace) McClintick, Katlynn (Ryan) Collins, Danielle (Jeremy) Dell; great-great-grandchildren Haxton Collins, Tinzleigh Dell, and Kayson Ripberger.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wanda, and one grandson Tony Bledsoe.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 8th, from 9-11am at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. His funeral will begin at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East cemetery.
