Charles F. Miller, 90, Indianapolis, passed away February 22, 2014. He was born August 10, 1923 in Bicknell, IN, the son of James Conway Miller and Edith Mae (McKinnon) Miller. Charles served in the U.S. Army in WW II, and helped liberate the Dachau Concentration Camp. He retired from Indiana Gear Works as a machinist. Charles enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, NASCAR and racing, and being outdoors. He was a very kind-hearted man who would help anyone. Charles was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn Miller; his daughter, Carla Jordan (Dick); his goddaughter and caregiver, Brenda Wills; his niece, Donna Jean Hughes (Jimmy); and his nephews, Dick Miller (JoAnn) and Roger Miller (Angeline). The family would like to extend a special thank you to Charles' hospice nurse, Melissa Fields, and the entire Community Hospice team. Services will be on Friday, February 28 at 2 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, with Celebrant Carrie Smith officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-2 PM at the funeral center.
