Charles E. Hargis, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away July 20, 2012 at his home. Charles was born, Nov. 26, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN, son of Virgil and Martha (Barlow) Hargis. He retired from General Motors Truck and Bus as a Master Mechanic. He was a member of Charity Tabernacle. Charles was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and will be laid to rest with military rites.
Charles is survived by his wife, Wanda L. Hargis; sons, Audie (Cindy) Swegman and Chuck (Jackie) Hargis; a daughter, Kristie (Rob) Winbun; grandchildren, Stephanie, Collin, Chelsie, Corey, Jeremy and Quinn; a great-granddaughter, Adyson; his sister, Christine Godbey; and his dog Bella.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Monday, July 23, 2012 and funeral service 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Charity Church, 2700 S. Tibbs Ave., Indianapolis, IN, with Rev David Gibson officiating. Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery.
