Charles E. Colson, Iii

Charles E. Colson III, 88, life-long resident of Indianapolis, passed away August 16, 2016. He was born December 8, 1927 in Indianapolis, the son of Charles E. Colson II and Julia Isabel (Williams) Colson. Charles served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was an insurance examiner with the Indiana Department of Insurance for many years. Charles was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Jane Colson; his children, Stephen E. Colson (Rebecca), Cathleen E. Markland (Mick), and Charles E. Colson IV; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Joyce Swepston and Patricia Sharpe. Services will be on Saturday, August 20 at 12:30 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, Indianapolis. Visitation will be on Friday, August 19 from 4-8 PM at the funeral center. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
