Mr. Charles Donald Bradburn died on May 19, 2014. Don, born in Philadelphia on February 7, 1923 and was the son of Charles A. Bradburn and Mollie Hoey Bradburn.
Don joined Naval ROTC as a senior at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa. During World War II he served on sub-chasers. He graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1947 and also obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.
He worked for Ingersoll Rand and A.O. Smith corporations for decades each.
Don, and his late wife Niceta, had seven children, all whom survive: Niceta Bradburn, M.D. (Jon Spadorcia), Charles Bradburn Jr, (Colleen Doody), John Kenny Bradburn, (Diane van Benten), Molly Hill, (Bruce), Theresa Weingartner, (Robert), Marianne Teixeira and James Bradburn (Joan Sajovec). Don is also survived by his sister, Nan Dunn, 21grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Don was active at Our Lady of Grace Catholic church in Noblesville. He was a member of Harbour Trees Golf Club and he was a proud member of the Indianapolis Service Club.
There will be a memorial service at Marquette Manor, 8140 Township Line Road, Indianapolis, on Saturday, May 24th at 1 pm, with visitation at noon.
