Charles (Charlie) Edward Ramsey

Charles E. "Charlie" Ramsey 79 of Camby, IN passed away peacefully March 29, 2014. He was born November 7, 1934 in Dexter, Kentucky to the late John C, and Nellie M. (Jones) Ramsey. He was an Assembler at General Motors Truck and Bus in Indianapolis, IN for over 30 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of the UAW Local #23. Charles loved his family and spent countless hours with them. He enjoyed his home and took great pride in keeping the yard and garden and even canned the vegetables that he grew in the yard this past year. Charles loved his native state of Kentucky and returned often to visit his family and friends there. He had a great love for horses that he gained from his being around them for most of his childhood and even as an adult. Charles is survived by his wife, Adell (Rose) Ramsey, children, Betty (Charles) Brooks, Estel Glenn Young (Tina Clark), Kelly Dean (Sherry) Young, Linda F. (Dave) Bennington, Lisa Marchino, 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, sisters, Nell (Joe) Wilson, Mary Jo Mitchell and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents along with his sisters, Julia Harrell, Donna Faye Downing and brothers, Mark, Ewin, and Rex Ramsey. Services will be held on Saturday , April 5, 2014, 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Township with Estel Glenn Young officiating. Visitation will be held there on Friday April 4th, 3-8 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 1PM. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery. The family suggest memorial gift be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
