Charles Bruce

Charles Russell Bruce, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away March 23, 2024. He was born July 6, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana to parents George and Gertrude (Hendricks) Bruce.  

 Charles grew up in Richmond, Indiana and graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 1962. 

 After high school, he and his wife Kathryn married on August 21, 1965, and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he attended Purdue Extension.

 Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

He worked as an architect for James Associates and then Fanning Howey before retiring.

He was a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Family of Bruce International.

Charles and his wife loved to travel and spend time with family, grandchildren, and friends.  He was very creative, and you could often find him sketching, drawing, and painting with watercolors.   

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Bruce; his sons, Christopher (Jill Fisse) and Robert (Amanda Hoffman); granddaughters, Ella and Meredith Bruce; and sister, Marilyn Bruce Turner (Gary), from Athens, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private burial will take place at the Carmel Cemetery, Carmel, Indiana.  Family requests no flowers but would be grateful for donations to the research division of Alzheimer's Association:
