Charles A. Martin

Charles A. Martin 86 of Indianapolis, IN passed away August 3, 2011. He was born on May 5, 1925 in Indianapolis. Mr. Martin was a graduate of Warren Central High School and a 1950 graduate of Butler University. Mr. Martin had worked at Omar Bakery, Holiday Steel, J. L. Steel and retired from Edgecomb Steel. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Temple Shrine, Old Oakland Golf Club and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and served in the United States Army. Survivors: wife, Mary (Cooper) Jared Martin; son, Thomas Martin; step son, William Jared; step daughters, Nancy DeWitt and Judy Goelz; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Martin and a son, Richard Martin. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Don McPherson. Burial at Washington Park East Cemetery. Following the funeral service there will be a Celebration of Life at the home of Nancy DeWitt. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
