Charles A. Grothe, 87 Indpls passed away Sept. 25 from Alzheimer 's disease. He was born in Indpls on May 31, 1924. Charles attended Little Flower Parish, was a graduate of Cathedral H.S., attended Butler Univ. and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired in 1980 from General Motors Truck and Bus Plant Indpls. Charles was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and wood working. He was also an avid bowler. Charles was a State Horseshoe Pitching Champion and was inducted into the Indiana Horseshoe Hall of Fame. Charles is survived by his wife, Eleanor of 63 years, 3 children, David, Michael and Tina, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday Oct. 1 at 2:00PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00-2:00PM at the funeral Center. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
