Charlene Capps Roth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 18, 1934, in the town of San Angelo, Texas, Charlene's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and generosity.

Charlene’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, home cooked meals, and endless love. She had a gift for making everyone feel cherished and valued. Charlene’s boundless love knew no limits. She dedicated her life to serving others, whether through running programs at food banks, assisted with launching the Craine House in Indianapolis, where women had a new opportunity at life, volunteering at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Library in Zionsville, and involvement with the Junior League of Indianapolis. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Charlene is survived by her Husband of almost 70 years; John W. Roth; her children John W. Roth Jr. and his fiancée Crystal Hamburg, Charles (Chip) D. Roth and his wife Trina Roth, and her daughter Patricia R. Koch; grandchildren: Megan Ford, Alexandra Johnson, Natalie Roth, Grace Roth, Spenser Roth, Will and Charle Koch; step-grandchildren Lauren Einterz and Courtney Ducker; greatgrandchildren Blaine and Evan Ford, Ciara, Jaden and Ava Johnson. Charlene was predeceased by her parents, sister, John’s parents, and grandchildren John W. Roth III and Jake Roth.

A private memorial service will be held in honor of Charlene's life. In lieu of flowers, Charlene’s family requests Memorial Contributions be directed to the John Whitney and Jake Roth Memorial Fund in care of the Boone County Community Foundation, 102 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, IN 46052; or the local food bank of your choosing.
