Celina Williams

March 23, 1927 — May 28, 2015

Celina Mae Williams 88, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis surrounded by family, after a long and serious illness. She fought hard to regain her health but eventually the illness won. Celina was one of the oldest living Polio Survivors. Celina was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, grandmother/great and dear friend to many. Born at home in Anderson, IN she was a member of the Allisonville Christian Church, the Petticoat Red Hat Chapter, and Petticoat Junction Square Dancers. Survivors include her children, Priscilla Kauffman, Pamela Roe, Daniel Williams, and Robin Hodnett; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Celina was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby D. Williams; and parents, Mildred and Ora Wheeldon. Services will be held on June 1, 2015 at Allisonville Christian Church. Calling will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. To honor Celina, please feel free to add something red or purple to your outfit. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Allisonville Christian Church or BOSMA. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
