Cecil L. Stonebraker, 78, Carmel, passed away December 4, 2010. He was born December 9, 1931, in Henry County, the son of the late Ray and Hazel (Bird) Stonebraker. He married Sue (Kirklin) Stonebraker on January 3, 1953. Cecil served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in 1989, from Allied Chemical/Arcadian after 30 years of service. He then became a Real Estate Investor for the next 20 years. He was an active member of Carmel United Methodist Church, Broad Ripple Sertoma Club, 25 year member of the Woodland Country Club, and 50 year member and 32nd Degree Mason. When he resided in Omaha, NE, Cecil coached Little League baseball and softball. He enjoyed remote control airplanes, boating, fly-fishing, fixing cars, playing golf, and being a mentor. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Stonebraker; daughter, Nancy (Jeff) Stonebraker Craig, Carmel; son, Tom (Terrie) Stonebraker, Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Charlene Stonebraker, Muncie; brother-in-law, Bob (Henrietta) Kirklin, Leesburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Erville (Madge) Stonebraker and Kenny Stonebraker. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Carmel United Methodist Church, 621 South Range Line Road. Visitation will be 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Broad Ripple Sertoma Club, Carmel United Methodist Church Food Pantry, or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
