Cecil M. Fritz, 91, Indianapolis, passed away on August 20, 2012. Mr. Fritz was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lucile Fritz. He is survived by his children, John (Linda) Fritz, Indianapolis, Susan Leigh Schweig, Princeton, NJ, and Marcia (David) Mason, Dayton, OH; his grandchildren, Rohini Mattson, Syama Mattson (Judy), Abhay Mattson, Julie Mason, Laura Mason, and Corey Jo Fritz; and his brother, Rev. Jim Fritz, Frankfort, IN. Mr. Fritz was born July 30, 1921, in Modoc, IN. He was a veteran of WW II, serving as captain in the United States Army Air Corps. He earned both his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees in finance from Indiana University in 1948 and 1949. Mr. Fritz was employed by City Securities Corporation in 1949, served as president from 1980 to 1992, and continued as a director of the corporation. He arranged municipal bond financing for hundreds of hospitals, schools, firehouses, other public buildings, and the Indiana Toll Road. He was a member of the Municipal Finance Committee of the Securities Industry Association and the Indianapolis Bond Club. Mr. Fritz was a charter member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where he served in many lay positions and sang in the choir. He was an instrument-rated pilot, a member of the IU Alumni Association, the Columbia Club, Old Oakland Golf Club, and Panther Woods Country Club in Florida. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award, and was listed in Who's Who in America. Memorial service will be on Saturday, August 25 at 2:00 PM at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 2720 E. 86th Street, preceded by visitation at 12:30 PM. Private entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church Music Fund or Building Fund, or to Vista Care Hospice.
