Cathy J. Garrigus

Cathy J. Garrigus, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away February 22^nd, 2024. She was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia, January 24^th, 1957, to parents Curtis and Aretta (Stark) Church. 

Cathy attended Manuel High School. She went on to work at Sexton Foods for 24 years, and Diamond Chain for 12 years before retiring. 

In Las Vegas, on December 3^rd, 2003, Cathy married the love of her life, Billy Garrigus. They shared 20 wonderful years together. 

Cathy was a vibrant, loving woman with a great sense of humor, and a wild side. Her Slingshot was her biggest passion. She and Billy loved to go on long rides, sometimes not even knowing the destination. In the last year, they logged over 4000 miles on their Slingshots, and participated in at least one charity ride a month. Cathy was also passionate about the holidays. She loved passing out candy for Halloween and took months to prepare for Christmas. She and Billy won Battle of the Bulbs in 2020 and have been the best decorated house on the block for over 12 years. In true Christmas spirit, Cathy and Billy collected bikes, toys, and clothing all year long to donate for Toys for Tots and other charities. Cathy also had a soft spot for dogs, loving many pets throughout her life. Music brought Cathy a lot of joy, and she would listen to anything. In her down time, she liked to fish and tend to her yard. 

She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. 

Cathy is survived by her husband Billy; her daughter Heather Green; one grandchild; brother Mike (Tiffany) Church. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Debbie Freund. 

Visitation will be Friday March 1^st, from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Additional visitation Saturday March 2^nd, from 11-12pm. Her funeral will begin at 12pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
