Carrolle S. Banks, 77, passed away August 24th, 2026. She was born February 20th, 1949 in Indianapolis, to parents Lester and Edna Wicker.
Carrolle grew up in Indy, and graduated from Arlington High School. She continued her education through the University of Wisconsin Extension.
She owned and operated her own childcare center, Sunrise Learning Center from 1985-1996.
She found community as a valued participant of the Come as You Are Praise Worship Group. For many years, she was involved in community theater through Buck Creek Players where her creativity in set design and as a Props Mistress earned her an Encore Award in 2001 for Best Set Decoration for the musical “Lizzie Borden.”
Carrolle loved her time as a Hospice Volunteer for Gentiva Hospice and Hearts in Hands since 2009. She was passionate about caring for her patients with kindness and love.
She loved her family, and cherished her friendships in her card group, her karaoke circle, and especially enjoyed sharing her love of Karen Carpenter music with others.
Carrolle was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Wicker. She is survived by her son Mike (Tracey) Banks; grandson Caleb Banks; siblings Kathy Prevost and Pat Wicker; cousins Heather (Todd) Parrish, Terry (Roger) Riggles, and Becky Mann.
Her family invites loved ones to join them in a Celebration of Life honoring Carrolle on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 3-6 in the Community Room of Cambridge Square Beech Grove located at 335 East Churchman Place, Beech Grove, IN 46107. A light meal of soups, salads and sandwiches will be provided.
