Carolyn "Vicki" Schmidt

Carolyn Victoria Schmidt (VICKI) passed from this earth on April 14th, 2023, at 11:40 while holding her husband’s hand. She was 71 years young.

She was born to the late William and Barbara Parros on July 21, 1951, in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Indianapolis by age 5.

Vicki was an operating nurse at Ind. University Hospital on the CV & heart transplant team for 30+ years and loved the teaching hospital aspect, letting her rotate thru all the OR services.

She enjoyed many crafts and shopping garage sales and flea markets for oddities and bargains. Her greatest joy was surprising others with her thoughtful shopping finds.

She will be remembered as everybody’s sunshine and is survived by husband John, sister Chris (Larry), niece Vonda (Greg), grand-nieces Ava and Lila and innumerable friends including Margie, Mona, Mary, and Beth.

We are having a private viewing and green burial.
