Carolyn Sue Smitley of Indianapolis died on December 26, 2020 at the age of 80.
She was born July 5, 1940 in Indianapolis to the late Harold and Audrey Preston.
Carolyn worked as a phlebotomist for Community Hospital. Her passions include gardening, flowers, being in the outdoors enjoying the sunshine, reading her Bible, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children Mickey Johnson (Tammy), Diane Bolton (Guy), and Brian Johnson (Tracy); 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; and siblings Pam Brolin (John), John Preston, and Richard Preston.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Smitley and siblings Dale Preston, Darlene Castetter, and Faith Hauk.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, December 31 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
