MRS. CAROLYN SUE SMITH was born to James Allen Pickett and Grace Pauline Pickett on September 26, 1937 in Clayton, Indiana. Carolyn was the eldest of three children and was preceded in death by her father, James and brother, Dale Pickett.
CAROLYN received her education at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. After high school, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana for a while before returning to Indianapolis, Indiana where she met and later married Raymond Lee Smith, Sr. on June 20, 1961. They continued in marriage for 53 years until she passed away on July 9, 2014. They had four children: Paula Rena, Raymond Lee Jr., Teresa Lynn, and Tommy Lee.
CAROLYN was a woman of many talents, working as a Teacher's Aide, Nurse's Aide, Bus Driver, and Manager. She retired from Argenbright Transportation as a Driver and Dispatcher.
CAROLYN will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend who always put her children first.
CAROLYN'S memory will endure through and be cherished by all those that survive her, including: her husband, Raymond Lee Smith, Sr.; mother, Pauline Masters; brother, James Pickett; children, Paula Rena Orr, Raymond Lee Smith, Jr., Teresa Lynn Johnson, and Tommy Lee Smith; grandchildren, Terrie, Randy, Candy, Anthony, Ashley, Erin, Raymond III, Tirese, Walter III, Tebreeze, Tommy Jr., and Timieon; a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, as well as many other relatives and friends.
