Carolyn G. Meagher

Carolyn Gibson Meagher passed away on February 22nd, 2024. 

Carolyn Meagher was born on September 16th, 1962 in Detroit, MI. She grew up in Livonia, MI with her loving parents, Jim and Barbara Miller, and her adoring sisters, Susan and Nancy. She attended Stevenson High School, where she loved playing tennis, singing in choir, being a prominent member of the student government and graduated in 1980. After high school, she attended Schoolcraft Community College in Livonia for a year and then went on to Michigan State University, where she was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources in 1984 and moved to Elkhart, IN to work in Human Resources Management at CTS. This is where she met the love of her life, Jim Meagher. Carolyn and Jim were married on September 6th, 1986 and later moved to Indianapolis, where they had three wonderful children, Jennifer, Matthew and Sarah. They were married for nearly 38 wonderful years.

Carolyn was an avid baker, an extraordinary gardener, and loved celebrating everything that life had to offer. Reading was her favorite pastime and she belonged to a book club. She was an advocate for Progressive Reproductive Justice and LGBTQ rights and attended many marches to help advance her causes. Carolyn found passion later in life in her career choice of Clinical Researcher in adolescent health at Indiana University. Family meant everything to Carolyn and being surrounded by family was one of her favorite things. She was a friend to many, especially those who needed one most. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim, her children Jennifer, Matthew (Megan), and Sarah, her parents, Barbara and Jim Miller, her sisters Susan (Paul) Brown, Nancy (Mike) Barry and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
