Carolyn Anne Luessow
70, passed away at her home on June 13, in the loving company of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edward and Carolyn Francis Hinesley as well as her husband, Tom who died just a few weeks ago. Carolyn is survived by her daughters Karen and Kathy (Angie) and her grandson, Henry. She is also survived by her sister, Susan (Bill) Thom, and their son, Sean and brother, Tom (Doris) Hinesley, as well as a host of dear friends.
She worked for IPS for 30 years as a financial clerk and bookkeeper and remained close to her friends from her many years of service at John Marshall High School. She will be remembered as a compassionate, thoughtful and giving friend. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing cards, and sharing time with her friends. She was a doting and adoring grandmother to Henry and she was sure to create memories for him to treasure.
Carolyn was a courageous, strong, smart, caring, funny and thoughtful woman. She lived her life to the fullest, especially on days that her illness made that quite difficult. She and Tom celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last fall.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 24 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North at 3 PM with visitation will take place from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the daughters ask that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
