It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carolyn Lee Harp, 84, on January 18, 2026. Carolyn was born on October 13, 1941, to parents Lloyd G. Harp and Mattie L. Harp (Miles) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
A woman of God, Carolyn was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was a profoundly devoted and a sweet-natured woman. Her generous heart extended not just to people, but towards animals as well. She donated to a wide variety of charities and was known to cherish her many cats. There was never a person Carolyn didn’t like: no one was a stranger.
Carolyn graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1960 and went to have a long and successful career in a variety of fields. Her most enduring occupation was working as a secretary at Community East Hospital, allowing her to help people in need. She was also a very skilled bowler. She won many awards and enjoyed the sport in her free time.
Carolyn is reunited in Heaven with her parents; her brother Joe D. Harp; and her fondest cats Tiger and Blackie.
Carolyn is survived by brother Lloyd J. Harp (Rhonda); nieces and nephews Donald J. Harp (Bethany), Amanda M. Ruegg (Brian), Ryan L. Ohlwine, Ross P. Ohlwine, Reid A. Ohlwine; great-nieces and nephews Amelia G. Ruegg, Winston D. Harp, Samuel T. Ruegg, and Bella R. Harp.
