Carolyn Priscilla Fortin, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025.
Born on July 29, 1936, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of James and Priscilla Bakos.
After raising her four daughters in Fort Wayne, IN, she pursued her college degree and graduated from Purdue University in Fort Wayne. She held positions with H&R Block and Edward Jones until she retired in 2006. An avid bridge player for over 40 years, Carolyn continued to play weekly at West Side Gardens in Indianapolis. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting women in achieving their educational goals.
She is survived by her children, Lynda(Chris) Settimi, Laura(Dave) Fortin-Boylen, Patricia(Mike) Haugh, and Michelle(Chris) Fortin-Dole, and her 8 grandchildren, Alyson, Stephanie, Jennifer, James, Collin(Michelle), Evan, Ryan, Catherine, and one great-grandchild, Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Fortin.
Carolyn will be missed by many.
Carolyn will be interred at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery. The family has chosen to have a private funeral service.
