Janson (Lucy); grandchildren, Hannah Davis, Michael Janson, Mara Davis, Katie Janson, Finn Davis, Ryan Janson, and Liam Janson; brothers; Robert Wahl and James (Diane) Wahl; sister-in-law, Vicki Reinbold (Michael); granddogs; Buster, Jake, Roxy and Sammy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Eugene Ernst “Gene” Janson and her parents, Clayton and Arlene Wahl and sister, Carol Pauline.
Carolyn was born on November 21, 1943, to Arlene (Roedel) Wahl and Clayton Wahl in Saginaw, Michigan. Carolyn married the love of her life, Gene Janson, on July 18, 1964, in Frankentrost, Michigan, and soon began raising their family in Indianapolis. She and Gene were married 55 years – “he was my world” as Carolyn would often say. She was devoted to her husband and children, prepared the most amazing meals, and loved travel (especially cruises with Gene and the family Alaska trip in 2019). Carolyn was a long-time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (starting in 1958 when she was in high school). There, she served as President of Dorcas and was a member of the choir. She deeply loved her Redeemer family. She loved singing and in addition to singing in the church choir, she also sang many seasons with Matinee Musicales. She also served as a co-producer and animator for several episodes of a local children’s TV show “Time for Timothy”. After the closing of Our Redeemer, she attended Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
