Carolyn A. Carter, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2012. She was born January 29, 1932 in Tipton, IN to the late Walter and Lou Miller. She graduated from Tipton High School and was a 1954 graduate of Ball State University School of Music. Carolyn faithfully served as a volunteer throughout her life, specifically in Carmel and Indianapolis, IN and in Pasadena and Los Angeles, CA, and enjoyed her long-time circle of fellowship with her Sunday school class and the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Friends and family are invited to gather on Tuesday, January 10, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am in the parlor at Carmel United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 11. Carolyn was a model of devotion as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her gentleness, kindness and selflessness was evident to anyone who knew her. She was the widow of William Carter. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Dave (Jill), Matt (Leslie), Tim (Colleen), Joe (Greg); grandchildren, Emily, Mallory, Casey (Scott), Elliott, AJ, Katelin, Elizabeth, Abigail, Katherine, Sam; great-granddaughter, Sophia. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ben. Memorial contributions may be made to Carmel United Methodist Church.
