Caroline Ann Green

Caroline (Carolyn) A. Green, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born on April 23, 1938, to Homer G. and Edith I.(Keller) Smith. Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 39 years, Uyless Green; Homer E. Smith (brother), Bonita Smith Wood (sister), Linnie Greathouse (sister); Cheryl D. Wicks (daughter); James R. Lee (son), Bervin S. Lee (Laurie)(son), as well as her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, numerous extended family members and friends.

Carolyn graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1956. She was a long time member of Coppin Chapel AME, now known as Crossroads AME Church. She loved music, shopping, and cheering on the Colts. She especially loved hosting family gatherings.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Lamar Peterson Jr. (brother), William “Brother” Peterson (brother), Horace “BeBe” Peterson (brother), Gregory Peterson (brother), James L Smith (brother), and Phyllis Rene Lee Howard (daughter).

The visitation will be on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46228. On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, there will be a visitation from 10:00-11:45, with services to follow at Crossroads AME Church, 4602 N. College Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46205.
